The Australian Tax Office will then calculate whether you have paid too much tax or too little tax .You must lodge a return Individuals, if you earn less that $6,000 in the year .You must lodge a return if you are 18 years or older and for people who are under 18 years of age,they must lodge a return if the total taxable income is over $643 per year.Certain expenses may be deducted from an individual’s tax. You should check with the Australian Taxation Office before you claim deductions.
